Best time to visit is spring and autumn. March through May in spring, September through November in autumn. However, the Best of Bhutan tour can be taken any month of the year. Bhutan is regarded as one of the last ‘Shangri-La’s” in the Himalayan region because of its remoteness, its spectacular mountain land, varied flora and fauna. Bhutan is also known for its unique ancient Buddhist monasteries.

Itinerary

DAYS	ITINERARY
01	Fly from Kathmandu (TIA) to Paro Airport (2195m/7200ft) Fly from Kathmandu International Airport to Paro with Druk Air, Bhutan’s National Airline. Our representative will welcome you in the Paro airport. Visit Rinpung Dzong (the fortress of the heap of Jewels built in the 17th century); traditionally this is the office of district governor’s and the living place for monks.Dinner and Ovbernight stay at paro.
02	Drive from PARO to THIMPHU (2320m/7612ft) Drive from paro to Thimphu which is the capital of Bhutan and the modern town of Bhutan it has about 90 thousands inhabitants, we will see the National animal, Golden Takin, Zulekha nunnery, National Handicraft Emporium and in the evening walk to Thimphu city. Dinner and overnight Stay at Thimphu.
03	Drive from THIMPHU to PUNAKHA(1,310m / 4,300ft) After breakfast you will proceed to Punakha which is acroos Dochula pass (3,100m). The pass offers the most spectacular view over the greater eastern Himalays including the highest peak of Bhutan.You will visit Punakha which was the previous capital city of Bhutwan till 1955. Dinner and overnight at Punkha.
04	Drive from PUNAKHA to PARO After breakfast you will have short excursion to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten. This Chorten is dedicated to our present crown prince and for the world peace. Which has fascinating paintings and statues of tantric teachings then Hike will take you around 45 minutes each way. Later drive to Paro via Thimphu. Free walk in Thimphu City, the best place to buy souvenir from Bhutan and then drive to Paro. Dinner and Overnight at Punkha.
05	PARO Hiking to Tiger’s nest which is almost 3 hours hike also you can take a horse ride. Taktshang which means the Tiger’s air, a Buddhist Monastery perched on a steep cliff is another awe striking place. After lunch we will visit Ta Dzong built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel, currently the National Museum that once served as the watchtower for Paro Dzong; Drukgyel Dzong built in 1647 by Zhabdrung to commemorate the victory over Tibetan invaders in1644 which is now in ruins; Kyichu lhakhang, one of the most sacred temples in Bhutan built in 636 AD by a Tibetan King Songtsen Gompo. Dinner and overnight stay at Paro.

What do we need for trekking in Nepal?

Good boots, warm clothes (we provide a packing list for each trek) and your own day pack. We provide a lot of the gear that you will need up in the mountains. Please be in touch for more info.

What size are the groups?

For our upcoming treks the groups vary between 4 to 12 people. Private trekking parties group sizes are not limited.

I'm not fit, can I still trek?

Treks can be customised to suit your trekking capabilities.

I'm travelling on my own, can you assist?

Most definitely. You are welcome to join our pre-planned treks, or if you wish to trek on your own, we can arrange a porter and guide to accompany you.

How can I offset my carbon footprint?

What are the costs for your treks?

Each trek or expedition will be priced individually depending on group size, duration of trek, whether it is a tent or tea house trek, whether domestic flights or jeep transport is included.

How do I choose which trek is for me?

When choosing a trek consider if you wish to stay in a tea house or tent, what altitude you feel comfortable with, do you wish to participate in mountaineering or climb a peak? Use the filters on our listings pages to filter the available treks.

How do I prepare for altitude?

The secret to altitude is time. The golden rule for acclimatization at high altitude states that one should start acclimatizing at +/-10,000 feet (3,000 meters) above the sea level. Once you reach that altitude, it is recommended that you increase the elevation of your stay at no more than 1,000 feet (300 meters) per night before you continue to ascend. Resting overnight at 1,000 feet (300 meters) elevation increase each day will help your body to acclimatize naturally.
