From here we head towards the westernmost village of the region, Thame, home Tenzing Norgay, the most famous Nepali – the first man to climb Mt. Everest with Edmund Hillary on his side.
From here we do our first acclimatization peak to get a fabulous view of the western ridges and beyond. We then make our way towards famous Gokyo lakes via Renjo La pass where we will catch our first full view of Mount Everest and the entire surrounding range all the way into Tibet. We will climb Gokyo Ri to get the view of all views of Nepal seconds largest glacier Nozumbula which we will cross the next day. We will then Walk up towards Cho La Pass.
Nireka peak is a great summit in the Himalayan range based in the Khumbu region. This peak is located in line with Lobuche peak and just east of Cho-la Col which is just a few hundred meters above the Cho-la pass. This peak is a newly opened Himalayan peak and listed in category as grade ‘A’ among the trekking peaks in Nepal by Nepal Mountaineering Association. The summit consists of two summit pyramids as north summit and south summit. The climb itself is relatively straight forward, though it does require technical ice-axe, crampons and large sections of fixed rope. It is a very physically possible climb for anyone in good shape and with a desire for high adventure.
The ascent is mostly in ice and snow, and is comparable to big alpine routes. Despite the relatively small height difference, it demands an excellent condition and acclimatization. The summit is quite technical but from the top it is one of the best sceneries of the Himalayan world. From the top you’ll have an opportunity to see the best view of the highest mountains such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho Oyu and other surrounding Himalayan peaks.
